Love Vs arranged marriage:My story!

By Jayakishore Bayadi

Two men, one Indian and an American were sitting in a Bar drinking shot after shot. The Indian Said to American, you know, my parents are forcing me to get married to this so-called homely girl from a village whom I haven't met even once. We call this as arranged marriage. I don't want to marry a woman I don't love. I told them that openly and now have a hell lot of family problems.

After listening to Indian, American Started: "Talking about love marriages-I will tell you my story. I married a widow whom I deeply loved and dated for three years. After a couple of years my father fell in love with my stepdaughter and finally married her. Now my father became my son-in-law and I became my father’s father-in-law. My daughter is my mom and my wife is my granny!

More problems occurred when I had a son. Now my son is my father's brother and so he is my uncle. Situation turned even ticklish when father had a Son. Now my father's son i.e., my brother is my grandson. Ultimately, I have become my own grand father I am my own grandson. And you say you have family problems!!"

Ha Ha Ha...Hope you all liked the joke. By the way, this is not my story folks!! My Tech writer friend Raghu Koppar sent the joke. Please take joke as joke itself. Don’t go into deep! Iam not discussing subtle cultural nuances of India and US here!!

Again, Valentines Day is on the corner. I think those who are in the rose business are running hectic schedule and apparently unreachable now. I find naughty smile or a little tension in the faces of guys ‘n’ gals bitten by the love bug, roaming around the city holding Red rose in the hand. My sincere advise to them is, if you really serious about it, and believe your feelings are genuine, please go ahead and express it to with your adorable Valentine. Convey your hearty and warm feelings boldly. Don’t hesitate. Again, be bold.

If your proposal bears a fruit, plant two ‘Red rose’ plants in your kitchen garden! One for you and another for your lovely darling. Other wise plant just one. Just for you! That’s it!!

My friend Shrikanta Ganadhalu has written a wonder full cover story on Rose business in the current issue of Sudha (A Kannada weekly). It's very informative and worth your time if interested. By the way, There is one interesting hot debate is going on on ‘Cow conservation’ in my friend Nethrakere UdayaShankar's blog http://www.paryaya.blogspot.com/. Now I added this blog to my favorites list. If you think can spare a little of your precious time please join us for discussion. You are always Welcome!

Wish you a very Happy days ahead!!

Sunset at Chennai

Hi all, do not wonder!! It's me in Marina beach, Chennai!!(Photo:Christo Jacob)
It's been a long time since I my self visited my blog!!! You know, recently, I and my friend Christo were on Chennai trip for the first time. What I observed was it's a best place to drive. There is no traffic havoc like Bangalore, though it's a Metro! But beware!!! Auto drivers make you penny less within no time there!!
Of course, city is little bit 'hot' compared to Bangalore. But Still you can find some 'Indianness' left. Although western, 'Mall' culture becoming rampant, you can observe people are still valuing good old tradition here. Perhaps, that's why, despite a struggle with language, Autowallas and weather, any newbie in Chennai may feel like at home!
Any way, those were the nice moments in Chennai last month. I really fell in love with city. Hope it's the same case with Christo as well. These are the some snaps when we were on Chennai trip. Have a look at it. Do not forget to drop in your valuable comments as well...
Take care...Bye!!
